i am looking for someone to take over my former roommate's half of the lease, which is set to end july 1st. the apartment is a two bedroom, two bath located on martel avenue between santa monica and melrose. there is a trader joe's and a smart and final within walking distance. there are two nearby ralphs. the melrose area has several coffee shops, restaurants, bars and clothing stores. there is a target at santa monica and la brea and, in the other direction, the glories of weho are not too far away. the apartment is adjacent to a park.
the apartment is accessible by bus lines 4, 10, and 704. there is also a parking spot that we can negotiate sharing, since i plan on getting a scooter in the coming months. street parking is ample. the room itself has a small walk-in closet, and its own private bathroom with shower. my former roommate had furnished it with a queen-sized mattress and dresser, and still had space to walk around. i do not mind the state in which your private room is kept (so long as there is no damage per the lease), but i am looking for someone to be mindful of the cleanliness of the common areas. similarly, i do not mind if you smoke in your bedroom or on the balcony, but would prefer if you did not do it in common areas. my personal goal -- admittedly, this falls short at times but remains the ideal nonetheless -- is to leave common areas slightly cleaner than how i found them. i occasionally have guests, but am conscious of sound and time. i do not mind if you have guests/your partner over, but would ask for similar awareness of sound and respect for time. i am looking for a person who is looking for a like-minded (in terms of sound, cleanliness) flatmate instead of a live-in friend. move-in date is negotiable, but it's tentatively set at december 7th. water and trash is covered by the building. we would split utilities (electricity, internet) which usually (per an estimate based on the last 6 months) comes up to $60 a month.
